A fleet operating in both agricultural and non-agricultural sectors faced challenges in managing ELD compliance for drivers working within a 150-air-mile radius of agricultural sites. Under the AG Exempt rule, commercial motor vehicle drivers are exempt from Hours of Service (HOS) regulations when transporting agricultural commodities during state-designated planting and harvesting periods or when hauling farm supplies under specific conditions. However, the fleet's previous ELD solution required drivers to remain in either AG Exempt or regular driving mode for the entire day, complicating the transition between work types.

Pedigree Technologies' Cab-Mate ELDs and OneView software addressed this challenge by enabling drivers to seamlessly switch between AG Exempt and standard driving modes within the same day. This flexibility ensured seamless compliance with both agricultural exemptions and standard HOS regulations, streamlining fleet management, reducing administrative burden, and improving driver satisfaction with a more adaptable approach to tracking hours.
